The S600 series of Products for Research Marked low voltage power supplies is designed to provide the necessary low voltage DC power to drive the thermoelectric devices and/or provide temperature control for all members of the PHOTOCOOL series of thermoelectric and liquid nitrogen cooled housings for photomultiplier tubes and other optoelectronic devices. Since heat must be removed from thermoelectric devices for proper operation, the S600, when used with thermoelectric coolers , includes circuitry which senses insufficient heat removal, disconnects power to the thermoelectric devices, and provides a yellow indicator to alert the user. Because the coolant is consumed during operation, all Products for Research liquid nitrogen cooled chamber S600 power supplies are provided with an alarm which serves as an indicator that the LN2 supply must be replenished. The alarm also provides overtemperature, undertemperature and sensor failure warning signals.	The S600 delivers up to 110 Watts of low voltage DC to provide ample power to drive all members of the PHOTOCOOL family, including their thermoelectrics, fans, no-dew rings and solenoid valves where applicable. It includes a selectable input, providing operation at 100-120/220-240 V~, 50/60 Hz and weighs 17 lbs. (7.7 kg). While the S600 power supplies are designed for use with the full line of PHOTOCOOL PMT housings, the old style TExxxRF and TExxxTSRF housings are compatible only with the power supplies originally provided. Connector configurations are arranged to prevent improper interface. Ruggedly designed for years of trouble free operation, the appropriate S600 model together with the necessary power cable is included with each member of the PHOTOCOOL series. In addition, the model S600 Universal power supply is also available to special order and can be used to operate any PHOTOCOOL cooled photomultiplier housing.
