| The liquid heat-exchanged standard series includes the TE104RF (end on), TE146RF (side on), and TE184RF (end on) thermoelectrically cooled photomultiplier tube chambers. These chambers utilize single stage Peltier devices to achieve temperatures needed for superior detector performance, while maintaining the convenience of thermoelectric cooling. These PMT coolers are provided complete with magnetic, electrostatic and RFI shielding, a double pane evacuated window cell designed to prevent formation of condensation in the light path, the low voltage DC power supply to drive the Peltier devices, and the appropriate PMT socket assembly.
Digital PID Temperature Control is available as Option 36, and if included, changes the type numbers to TE104TSRF, TE146TSRF, and TE184TSRF respectively. Liquid heat-exchanged thermoelectrically cooled PMT housings typically use water, either by means of a recirculating liquid heat exchanger, or tap water flowing into an open drain to remove heat from the PMT cooler. Other non-hazardous liquids may also be used. Chambers in the liquid heat-exchanged standard series have been designed to accept all interchangeable options and accessories used in conjunction with the standard line of cooled housings for 2.1 inch (53.4 mm) or less nominal diameter photomultipliers. |
